Xero Me App for expenses
The Xero Expenses app is retiring on February 6, 2024 and you will no longer be able to use it after this date. This change only affects the mobile app and there’s no changes to the Xero Expenses web experience.
Switch to the Xero Me app now and pick up where you left off.
When you switch from the Xero Expenses app to the Xero Me app, all your expense claims and information will be there, so you can pick up where you left off.
You can do everything in the Xero Me app that you could in the Xero Expenses app, plus Xero Me has some new time-saving features, including the ability to:
• duplicate existing expense claims
• easily add recently selected locations to mileage tracking
In addition, if you have a Xero Payroll subscription, Xero Me allows access to payslips, leave, and timesheets. By using the Xero Me app, you or your employees can self-serve your own work admin tasks on the go, all in one place.
Employee access to Xero Me
Payroll employees can see their payroll information, submit timesheets and request leave.
If you have an employee responsible for payroll, you can give them payroll admin access. Payroll admins can set up payroll, process pay runs, and manage employees.
You can also give a payroll employee access to other features of Xero by editing their user access.
Invite an employee to Xero Me
You need to make sure the employee you want to add in Xero Me has an email address attached to their username. To do this:
- In the Payroll menu, select Employees.
- Check each employee has an email address.
- If not, click Add Email.
- Add an email address and click Save.
Give an employee access to Xero Me
To give your employee access to Xero Me:
- In the Payroll menu, select Employees.
- Select the checkbox next to the employee you want to invite.
- Click Invite to Xero Me.
Remove employee access to Xero Me
If your employee does not need access to Xero Me anymore, you can change their user roles. To do this:
- Click on the organisation name, select Settings, then click Users.
- Select an employee.
- In the Payroll section, click Remove employee access.
If the employee no longer works for your company, the employee will have 14 days from their last day of employment to access their Xero Me account. After that, they will need to contact you if they need extra information.
Once they have been removed from Xero Me, they will not be able to see their payroll information through the employee portal. If they do not have any other user permissions, this also deletes their user role.
